Around 10.5 lakh students appeared for the exam in either Hindi or English while around 1.25 lakh to 1.50 lakh students appeared in eight vernacular languages —Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese, Gujarati, Oriya and Kannada. The NEET 2017 result had been held up due to an order of the Madras High Court which on May 24 granted interim stay on the publication of NEET results on a batch of pleas alleging that a uniform question paper was not given in the examination and there was a vast difference between the ones in English and in Tamil. The NEET examination for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses was held on 7th May 2017.

The merit list All India Quota will be prepared by Central Board of Education (CBSE) board and announced on 23rd June 2017. NEET 2017 Counselling
Candidates who have scored the marks under the released cut-off will be able to participate in the counselling process. NEET 2017 Counselling process will be organized in the month of June 2017. Counselling process will be conducted through online process. Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats (MBBS/BDS) will be regulated by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). During the counselling process, candidates have to choose their preferences of colleges for admission. Seats will be allotted to candidates as per filled preferences, secured rank and availability of seats in colleges. Counselling for other 85% state quota seats will be administrated by the respective counselling authority.
NEET 2017 Admission Process
After the declaration of NEET Result. Candidates have to participate in the counselling process followed by admission in the respective alloted colleges. The admision process will start in the month of July. Candidates have to participate in the counselling process conducted by their state medical admission authorities. The notification regarding the same will be released in the last week of June, 2017.
