GATE 2018 Exam Schedule Released-Exam dates, Eligibility, Mock tests

 GATE 2018 Exam Schedule Released :GATE 2018 Schedule, GATE 2018 Exam Date, GATE 2018, GATE Dates, GATE Time Table: GATE 2018 exam will be conducted from February 3 to February 11 next year. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 exams will be held in two sessions on February 3, 4, 10 and 11. According to the schedule released recently, Mechanical Engineering (ME), Engineering Sciences (XE), Life Sciences (XL), Ecology and Evolution (EY) and Petroleum Engineering (PE) GATE 2018 exams will be held on February 3 on the forenoon session. ME GATE 2018 exam also will be held scheduled for the afternoon session on the same day. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati is the official organisor of GATE 2018.




GATE 2018 examinations for 23 papers will be conducted across eight (8) sessions as per the following schedule: 



  1. 03 February 2018 (Saturday) 09:00 - 12:00 hrs (Forenoon Session): ME, EY, PE, XE, XL
  2. 03 February 2018 (Saturday) 14:00 - 17:00 hrs (Afternoon Session): ME, AE, MA, PI
  3. 04 February 2018 (Sunday) 09:00 - 12:00 hrs (Forenoon Session): CS, MN
  4. 04 February 2018 (Sunday) 14:00 - 17:00 hrs (Afternoon Session): AG, AR, BT, CH, CY, GG, IN, MT, PH, TF
  5. 10 February 2018 (Saturday) 09:00 - 12:00 hrs (Forenoon Session): EC
  6. 10 February 2018 (Saturday) 14:00 - 17:00 hrs (Afternoon Session): EE
  7. 11 February 2018 (Sunday) 09:00 - 12:00 hrs (Forenoon Session): CE
  8. 11 February 2018 (Sunday) 14:00 - 17:00 hrs (Afternoon Session): CE



Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2018 is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission or financial assistance to master's programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering or Technology or Architecture and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies.

Even in some colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRD scholarship /assistantship, the GATE qualification is mandatory.

GATE exam is held by Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resources Development.

Apart from its academic use, the GATE 2018 scores are also mandatory for job applications in several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).

Note: Admit Card will be available in the online application portal of GOAPS (for printing). The results will be announced on March 17, 2018. After the announcement of the result, candidates have to appear for the counseling process. The counseling process will be started in the month of April 2018.

GATE Eligibility Criteria:


Candidates can check GATE eligibility criteria. In order to fill the GATE application form 2018, students should have any one of the qualification as mentioned below:

Note: International candidates should have completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in any relevant science subject.AT the time of filling the application form, students have to upload their proof of qualification eligibility. Students who have passed the qualifying degree in 2017 or before are required to submit the degree certificate/provisional certificate while the other candidates have to upload certificate from Principal/head of the institution.
