India's largest public sector bank, the State Bank of India offers a number facilities through its net banking portal, SBI account holders can check their account balance, transfer money, activate ATM card, open a digital savings account, apply for chequebook and more.
SBI net banking facility can be used through mobiles, laptops and tablets and account holders do not have to even visit the bank branch in order to register for SBI internet banking facility. In order to register online, you will need your SBI ATM card, account number, CIF, branch code and registered mobile number.
Pre-requisites for INB self-registration:
Here's how you can register for SBI net banking online without visiting the bank branch:
Step 1. Visit Online SBI home page and under 'Personal Banking' section, select 'New User Registration/Activation'.
Step 2: A pop-up window will open on your screen and you will be required to fill the registration form. Enter all required details such as your account number, CIF, branch code, country, registered mobile number. You will then select whether you want full or limit transaction rights. Click submit to proceed.
Step 3: Once all the details required are submitted successfully, you will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to proceed further.
Step 4: Select the ATM card options and use your card to complete your registration and to activate your net banking services. Once you click 'submit', the page will display a temporary username. Create your login password to register successfully.
Step 5: Once the registration is complete, visit SBI online website again and select Log0in under Personal Banking section again. Login using the temporary username and password.
Step 6: You will now get the option to set your own own username and password to access the SBI net banking service. Once your sucessfully do that, you can access your net banking services easily.
It may be noted that this method is for those who did not receive the internet banking pre-printed kit from the bank. In case you received the kit, you will already have a username and password to access the net banking service. Worth mentioning here is that one your register online, you will only have the right to check your account balance or account statement. In order to get full transaction rights, you will have to visit the bank branch.
