Intelligence Bureau (IB), under Ministry of Home Affairs, is looking for technically sound young Graduate Indian Nationals with consistent academic records & who have achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE in any of the years 2021 or 2022 or 2023 to join the organization as:

Assistant Central Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical in disciplines of Computer Science & Information Technology (79) Electronics & Communication (147)

Applicants are advised to go through all parameters under different paras & sub-paras mentioned below & satisfy themselves about their suitability in terms of age limit, essential qualifications, etc for the post before applying. Candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria of the post, as mentioned below, may apply ONLINE through www.mha.gov.in or www.ncs.gov.in only.

DESCRIPTION OF POST & BENEFITS:

Classification General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial)
Pay scale Level 7 (Rs.44,900-1,42,400) in the pay matrix plus admissible Central
Govt. allowances.
Note:
On initial appointment, the following pay and allowances is
admissible:
(a) Basic Pay – Rs. 44900/-
(b) DA (@46% of basic pay as on date) – Rs. 20,654/-
(c) SSA (20% of basic pay) – Rs. 8,980/-
(d) HRA (ranging from 9% to 27% of basic pay, depending upon the
classification of city of posting) – X (27%), Y (18%) & Z (9%)
(e) Transport Allowance – Higher TPTA cities (Rs. 3600/- + DA on 3600)
& Other places (Rs. 1800/- + DA on 1800)
(f) Government contribution towards NPS (@14%) – Rs. 6,286/-
In addition to above, other admissible facilities/allowances –
(i) Cash compensation in lieu of duty performed on holidays subject to a
ceiling of 30 days.
(ii) Annual increment.
(iii) Medical facilities for self and dependent family members (CGHS/AMA)
(iv) LTC facilities (for self and dependent family members)
(v) Children Education Allowance
(vi) Government accommodation (as per entitlement) – subject to
availability

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION:

Candidates must have achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE 2021 or 2022 or 2023 in Electronics & Communication (GATE code: EC) or Computer Science & Information Technology (GATE code: CS) along with:

 B.E or B.Tech in the fields of: Electronics or Electronics & Tele-communication or Electronics & Communication or Electrical & Electronics or Information Technology or Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Computer Science & Engineering  from a Government recognized University/College/Institute.

(Or)
Master’s Degree in Science with Electronics or Physics with Electronics or Electronics &
Communication or Computer Science; or Master’s Degree in Computer Applications  from
a Government recognized University / College / Institute.

AGE LIMIT:   (as on 12.01.2024)

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 27 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable as per rules

Important Note:

  • The above-mentioned post is not identified suitable for any category of Persons with disabilities/PWD i.e. HH, OH, VH or Autism. Hence, they NEED NOT apply.
  •  The number of vacancies is provisional and liable to change.
  •  The appointment to the post will be temporary. However, appointment in permanent capacity will depend on various factors governing permanent appointment in such posts in force at that time.
  •  Successful completion of training is mandatory for confirmation to the post of ACIO II/Tech.
  •  The eligibility of the candidates in terms of age, educational qualification, caste/category etc. will be determined on the closing date. The candidates must have achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE 2021 or 2022 or 2023 and acquired essential qualification for the post applied for, on or before the closing date, i.e., the final result must be out on or before the closing date, i.e. 12.1.2024 (till 2359 hours) and he/she must have been declared successful in the examination pertaining to essential qualification.
  •  The reservation of vacancies for OBC, SC, ST, EWS & Ex-Servicemen/ESM is as per rules/roster. If suitable ESM candidates are not available, vacancies reserved for ESM will be filled through non-ESM candidates of respective categories.
  •  ESM who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Govt in Group ‘C’ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ESM for their re-employment are not eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under ESM category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation.
  •  Serving defence personnel who are due for discharge are required to obtain a certificate as per Appendix-4 at the end of detailed advertisement. Besides, all ESM candidates are required to submit an undertaking, as & when asked for, as per Appendix-5 at the end of detailed advertisement.
  •  While every care has been taken for inclusion of GoI instructions in vogue, IB reserves
    the right to rectify omissions, if any, noticed subsequently.

EXAMINATION FEE:

  • For All Other Candidates : Rs.100/– (Processing Fee)
  • For Male candidates of General/UR, EWS & OBC Candidates: Rs 200/- (Exam Fee + Processing Fee)
  • Payment Mode: Through Online/ Offline by using Debit Cards (RuPay/ Visa/ MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, UPI, SBI challan etc.

Note 1: Ex- Servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Govt. in Group ‘C’ post on regular basis after availing benefits of reservation given to them are required to pay the examination fee, i.e. Rs. 100/- also along with recruitment processing charges of Rs. 100/-.

Note 2: Banking charges, if applicable, will be borne by the candidate.

Candidate has the option to provide his/her best GATE score from amongst GATE 2021 or 2022 or 2023.

Interview Marks
Candidates (10 times the number of vacancies) who have achieved qualifying cut-off marks in GATE 2021 or 2022 or 2023, to be shortlisted and called directly for the Interview. 1000 175
  • The interview is aimed to assess the candidate’s traits on two parameters i.e. Subject knowledge in relevant fields & Communication skills.
  • The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of candidates’ combined marks obtained in GATE examination as well as in Interview.

Note: Candidates appearing in interviews will be required to appear in a Psychometric/Aptitude test, which will be a part of the Interview process.

SELECTION OF CANDIDATES:

  • Candidates (10 times the number of vacancies) shortlisted on the basis of GATE score card will appear directly for the Interview at Delhi.
  • Candidate has the option to provide his/her best GATE score from amongst GATE 2021 or 2022 or 2023.
  • The date & time of Interview would be intimated to the shortlisted candidates by E-mail given by them in online application.
  •  Based on the combined score of GATE & Interview, the candidates would be shortlisted for final selection subject to their Character and Antecedent verification followed by medical examination, etc.

RESOLUTION OF TIE CASES: In the event of tie in scores of candidates in the GATE& performance in Interview, such cases will be resolved by applying following criteria, one after another, till the tie is resolved:

  • Gate Score.
  • Marks in Interview.
  • Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher.
  • Alphabetical order of names (starting with first name).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF ON-LINE APPLICATION:

  • Applications should be submitted only through ONLINE registration by logging on to MHA’s website (www.mha.gov.in) or NCS portal (www.ncs.gov.in) only. Applications will NOT be accepted through any other mode.
  •  Registration done, prior to 23.12.2023 and after 12.1.2024 will not be accepted.
  • Wrong information in any column may lead to the application getting rejected altogether.
  • Candidates are advised to register well in time, since the application portal witnesses a surge in number of applications during the run up to the closing date. The closing date for receipt of online application will not be extended under any circumstances.
