The Telangana government has extended the deadline to complete ration card e-KYC. The e-KYC process has been ongoing for the past two months at ration shops across Telangana State. Devendra Singh Chouhan, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, issued an order extending the deadline for ration card e-KYC in Telangana until February 29, 2024.This decision provides relief to those who have not yet completed the process of ration card e-KYC in Hyderabad and other districts of the state.
Ration Card e-KYC : తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రేషన్ కార్డుదారులకు అలర్ట్ జారీ చేసింది. జనవరి 31వ తేదీ లోపు ఈ-కేవైసీ పూర్తి చేయాలని సూచించింది. ఈ మేరకు తెలంగాణ పౌరసరఫరాలశాఖ ఉత్తర్వులు జారీ చేసింది. ఇప్పటికే ఈ ప్రక్రియ మొదలు కాగా, గత రెండు నెలలుగా రేషన్ షాపుల్లో డీలర్లు ఈకేవైసీ అప్డేట్ చేస్తున్నారు. కేవైసీ అప్డేట్ కోసం ఆధార్ ధ్రువీకరణ, వేలిముద్రలను సేకరిస్తున్నారు. రేషన్ కార్డుకు ఆధార్ లింక్ చేయకపోతే వెంటనే పూర్తి చేయాలని అధికారులు సూచిస్తున్నారు. ఈ-కేవైసీ పూర్తి చేయకపోతే రేషన్ సరుకులు ఇవ్వరని సివిల్ సప్లై అధికారులు స్పష్టం చేశారు. కాబట్టి రేషన్ లబ్దిదారులు జనవరి 31వ తేదీ లోగా రేషన్ కార్డు, ఆధార్ నంబర్ కు లింక్ చేయాలని పౌరసరఫరాల శాఖ కమిషనర్ దేవేందర్ సింగ్ చౌహాన్ పేర్కొన్నారు.ఈ-కేవైసీ గడువును కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం పొడిగించింది. ప్రస్తుత గడువు జనవరి 31తో ముగియనుంది. అనేక రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఈ ప్రక్రియ మొత్తం పూర్తికాలేదు.
రేషన్ కార్డులను ఆధార్ సంఖ్యతో అనుసంధానించే గడువును ఫిబ్రవరి నెలాఖరు వరకు కేంద్రం పెంచింది. తెలంగాణలో రేషన్ కార్డుల ఈ-కేవైసీ 75.76 శాతం పూర్తయింది. ఫిబ్రవరి నెలాఖరుకల్లా 100 శాతం పూర్తి చేయాలని పౌర సరఫరాలశాఖ కమిషనర్ డీఎస్ చౌహాన్ అన్ని జిల్లాల అదనపు కలెక్టర్లు, హైదరాబాద్ చీఫ్ రేషనింగ్ ఆఫీసర్ను ఆదేశించారు

How you can update your KYC :
- Visit the Nearest Ration Shop: The family owner and all family members listed on the ration card should go to the nearest ration shop.
- Fingerprint Verification: At the ration shop, get your fingerprints reprinted using the ‘E Pass’ mission. Your Aadhaar card number and ration card number will be displayed.
- Green Light Approval: A green light means your KYC update is successful.
- Red Light Rejection: A red light indicates a mismatch between your ration card and Aadhaar card. In this case, one unit will be removed from the ration card.
- Update Together: Regardless of how many names are on the ration card, everyone should go to the ration shop for KYC updates simultaneously.
- Avoid Unit Elimination: If some family members don’t go for KYC, they will be considered separated units. The details of those units not in the process will be entered, leading to their removal from the ration card.

New ration cards in Telangana :
Meanwhile, applications for new ration cards in the state are being accepted along with Praja Palana forms at designated centers.
There is no separate form for the new ration cards. The applications can be submitted by writing the details on plain paper.
Earlier, there were rumors that income certificates were needed for the new ration cards. However, later it was clarified that there is no such requirement.
Those who have ration cards need to complete e-KYC, whereas new application forms can be submitted at Praja Palana centers in Telangana.

How to Check Telangana Ration Card Status & Download?
If you wish to track your application and check ration card status & Download , you can do so online by following these steps:
- Visit the official website of the Telangana National Food Security Cards on its EPDS portal
- Navigate and click on ‘FSC Search’ and again select the ‘FSC Search’ tab.
- Enter one of these -FSC reference number, ration card number, old ration card number and district.
- After entering the required details, click on ‘Search’. Once this is done, you will be able to see the TS ration card status on the screen.
- You can also Download & save the details of your search on your device.
